One key limiting factor to further development of modern technology is the absence of a multiscale platform for computational prototype testing, that connects fundamental physics at the atomic and electronic level to a hybrid device level. Therefore, multiscale simulation tools developed and interfaced in this project will be crafted into an Open Innovation Platform, that will be at disposal to both academia and industry. While ensuring long-term visibility to the stakeholders in this project and continuous feedback on modern research demands, such an open platform will deliver a worldwide boost to materials by design and next generation technologies, far beyond the size and scope of this project alone.
